Field types

Choose a field for the data or action the user needs. This catalog covers all 30 types in the current backend factory and field-creation schema: 27 regular types and 3 system types. Backend support does not imply availability in every interface or API request; individual pages explain relevant limits.

Date	A business or event date
Due Date	The task deadline, optionally derived from another date
Counter	An automatically formatted reference number
Email	An email contact
Phone	A phone contact
Person	Selection of an HCAPP user
Form	A reference to a record in another form
Table	Repeated rows entered within this task
Associated table	A view of whole linked tasks
Linked Rows	A view of matching table rows from other tasks

Files	Uploaded documents, photos, and receipts
Signature	A captured signature stored as a file

Choosing between similar types

• Text or Number: keep codes with leading zeroes in Text; use Number for arithmetic.
• Number or Balance: Number is entered or calculated; Balance is maintained by table movement rules.
• Date or Due Date: Date records an event; Due Date updates the task deadline.
• Form, Table, Associated table, or Linked Rows: respectively, a record reference, owned rows, a view of whole linked tasks, or a view of linked rows.
• Files, Signature, or Google Drive: ordinary attachments, signature capture, or a Drive folder workflow.

Shared settings

Available settings depend on the individual field schema. Not every setting below applies to every type, especially system and layout fields.

A show_if condition contains a field ID, operator, and value. The schema accepts =, <=, >=, !=, *, !*, ===, and !==. Display settings do not replace access permissions.

Names that are not separate field types

• Money: use Number with money and currency settings.
• Dropdown, Checkbox, and Boolean: use Choice for options and flags; Dropdown and Checkbox are display_as values.
• Status: use Choice with is_status_field. The StatusField name in the Associated table column schema does not define a separate creatable type.
• Image: there is no supported standalone type; use Files for images. The old Image page remains available for existing links.

Money, Boolean, Checkbox, and Dropdown constants exist in the model but are absent from the current field factory and creation schema. Author, Created At, and Is Finished are system types; their field resources are returned as SystemField, rather than ordinary editable fields.
