Linked Calc

Configures an advanced numeric dependency involving a linked task. The backend applies numeric changes using addition or subtraction; this is not a general-purpose spreadsheet formula or a live sum of all linked records.

When to use

Use it when maintaining an existing workflow built around linked numeric adjustments. For a new stock or account balance workflow, prefer Balance with Table balance rules. For arithmetic within a task, choose a calculated Number.

Settings

• target_field_id: must identify a Number field; the controller rejects other types.
• linked_task_field_id: the field that supplies the linked task reference.
• operator: + or - (default +).
• Default value, decimal precision, bold text, color, and inline layout.

The implementation registers a dependency on the selected Number field. When that Number changes through task saving, it looks up the linked task and adjusts that task's item with the configured target field ID. Both the link and target item must exist. Direct updates through the single-item endpoint are rejected. This field does not provide the ledger and reversal behavior of Balance.
