Author

A system field representing the task's author: the user who created the task.

When to use

Use author metadata to identify who registered a request or entered an order. Choose Person for a manually selected contact. The creator and the current person responsible for a task are different concepts.

Settings and behavior

The creation schema accepts only type: AuthorField; it does not expose a default value or the ordinary editable-field settings. The model marks it as a system field and the field resource represents it as SystemField.

Treat the author as system-managed task metadata, not an input asking the user to choose a creator. Its presentation depends on the system-field support in the interface.
